An 8-Year-Old Michigan Girl Saved Her Great-Grandmother After She Got Stuck Under A Car
A girl in West Bloomfield, Michigan, is a hero after saving her great-grandmother from a horrific car accident outside her home.
Jan. 11 was like any other day for elementary student Mariah Galloway. Her great-grandmother, 79-year-old Patricia Lynch, picked her up from school, but an unfortunate incident, captured on a Ring doorbell, happened when Lynch stepped out of the vehicle while the 8-year-old was still inside, WXYZ 7 reported.
“So she was picking me up from school and she thought the car was in park, but it was in reverse,” the second-grader said, according to WXYZ 7.
Mariah shared that when Lynch realized the vehicle was moving with her still inside, she tried stopping it, but her leg and foot got stuck under the driver’s side front tire.
She could no longer see her great-grandmother, so she quickly took the keys out of the ignition and exited the car, screaming for help as she ran to the front door to get her mom’s help.
“When I opened the door all I heard was Mariah screaming. When I got out there, there was blood everywhere,” Mariah’s mother, Porchia Lane, told WXYZ 7.
An ambulance eventually came to take the great-grandmother to the hospital, where she got blood transfusions and is safely recovering from her injuries.
