Giants Jones and Barkley Get First Playoff Win
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had the best performance of his career Sunday in Minnesota as he and running back Saquon Barkley led the Giants to their first playoff win in over a decade. The duo accounted for all four Giants touchdowns allowing them to best the Vikings 31-24. Barkley had 109 total yards and two touchdowns. Jones threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns, but his legs were the difference as he extended drives all game long, slicing the Minnesota defense for 78 yards on the ground. Jones became the first quarterback in playoff history to throw for 300 yards and two touchdowns and run for 75 yards.
Big Blue had strong defensive performances from several individuals including Xavier McKinney, Dexter Lawrence, Adoree Jackson and Jaylon Smith. They next face their division rival Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night in Philadelphia for a chance to go to the Conference Championship game. The Giants were 0-2 against Philadelphia this season but the two teams played two weeks ago in the final game of the regular season in which the Giants gave a great account of themselves playing most of the game with backups while Philly played their starters as they clinched the number one seed. The winner will take on the winner of Dallas and San Fransisco. Dallas dominated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday night. Cowboys quarterback Dan Prescott threw 4 touchdown passes and ran for 1 touchdown in the 31-14. In the AFC Divisional games, Jacksonville travels to Kansas City Saturday while the Bengals goes to Buffalo to take on the Bills.
