Giants Reserves Come Up Short vs Eagles Face Vikings Sunday
Jones and running back Saquon Barkley. The Philadelphia Eagles were
also getting back NFL MVP candidate Jalen Hurts at quarterback. A
non-competitive game should have been expected.
But the Giants battled and Hurts and the Eagles failed to put the game
away early and Big Blue came up just short in a 22-16 loss in Philadelphia.
The New York defense held the Eagles to one touchdown and five field
goals, and backup quarterback Davis Webb and the offense put up 13
fourth-quarter points to make it an exciting finish.
Giants first year head coach Brian Daboll looked ahead to Sunday’s NFL Playoffs
game in Minnesota against the Vikings, who the Giants lost to by a
field goal on Christmas Eve. “All of our preparation will be geared towards that team,’’ he said.
“They’re a fantastic team.”
Barkley looked back to the December game against the Vikings and also
looked forward to Sunday’s game. “It was a fun opponent, it was a fun
matchup,” he said. “I envisioned the playoffs kinda being like that.”
“What wins in week one wins in the playoffs,” Daboll said early
Monday afternoon while speaking to the media.
